Building relationships at a safe distance

MARCH 30, 2020

We are grateful to be in an industry that continues to grow during the coronavirus crisis. As an independent medical communications agency, we are accustomed to working remotely and leveraging the individual skill sets of our various employees through all mediums and environments. So “social distancing” is not new to us, it’s just new to the world.

That said, our company’s reputation and trust is based on maximizing the remote relationships we have built with our staff and our valued clients since its inception. When we founded AlphaBioCom in 2005, we built our brand on three pillars of excellence … PRECISION, INTEGRITY and PASSION. AlphaBioCom has remained steadfast to these values by making them the core of all relationships we build professionally within the medical affairs and scientific research industries.

AlphaBioCom’s mission is at the core of all we do for our team and our clients.

Today we extend these principles further to adapt to the changing times during COVID-19 quarantines and curfews. At the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, AlphaBioCom offered team members the opportunity to ground themselves by participating in two daily guided meditations made available online.

Passion for our team members is what makes the difference in what we do at AlphaBioCom. During the COVID-19 crisis, we believe caring for people is paramount, which is why we start by caring for our staff with two meditation breaks a day to help manage our feelings about the uncertainties in the world at large.

As the corona crisis continues to impact the economy and the security of our nation, founding partners Stephen Douthwaite and Ed Shifflett have decided to offer additional resources to further build their relationship with their team. Starting in April, each AlphaBioCom employee will receive a $100 hardship payment in their monthly paycheck.

“The hardship payment is so that staff has extra resources for themselves or that can be donated to a local business shelter or food bank should they wish,” Douthwaite explained.

At AlphaBioCom, while science is our passion and communication is our expertise, our people are who matter most. These talented individuals provide the highest-quality service in the medical communications industry, and it is imperative that we make their well-being our priority, especially during these uncertain times. Our success is the direct result of an unrelenting focus on delivering the best-in-industry quality with care and attention resulting from each person and relationship we build in any environment.

AlphaBioCom believes strongly in giving back to the community as we collectively gather to support those on the frontline of COVID-19.
